Do agencies have to be licensed with the state of Florida?

The Agency of Healthcare Administration (AHCA) is homecare’s governing body. There are rules and regulations all agencies must abide by to acquire and retain licensure. To insure an agency is registered be sure to look for their license number. At PSFS, our license number is #299994819.

How do I know if home care is the right option for my loved one?

Home care is often ideal for individuals who need assistance with daily activities but prefer to remain in the comfort of where they call home ( ALF, SNF, ILF, or independent home). At PSFS we offer a free in home consultation to assess if homecare is ideal for you or your loved one.

What qualifications do your caregivers have?

Our caregivers are carefully selected and must meet stringent qualifications, including relevant certifications, background checks, and experience in senior care as regulated by AHCA. All our caregivers have a Level II background check.

How do you handle call-offs?

We understand that call-offs can happen in the home care industry. When last-minute call-offs occur, our primary concern is to ensure that the substitute aide can meet the physical requirements of the care needed. Our first priority is always to make sure the client remains safe and to minimize any risk of falls or other physical issues.

We also consider the emotional support aspect, ensuring that the substitute aide is not only capable of providing the necessary physical care but also able to offer comfort and reassurance to the client. We strive to maintain continuity and familiarity, and will notify you promptly if there is any change in the caregiver. Our goal is to handle these situations seamlessly to ensure that your loved one continues to receive high-quality care without disruption.

How do you ensure the safety and quality of care provided?

We ensure safety and quality through rigorous caregiver screening processes, and regular performance evaluations. Additionally, we encourage open communication between caregivers, clients, and family members to address any concerns promptly. When a new client is on boarded, they become an extension of our family. Either Tessy, Francesca or Cassandra will always be within reach for any questions or concerns.

Can we change the caregiver if needed?

Absolutely! If for any reason you feel that a change in caregiver is necessary, we will work with you to make the transition as smooth as possible. Your satisfaction and the comfort of your loved one are our top priorities. We do ask for grace within the first two weeks of onboarding and open feedback.

How are care plans developed and adjusted?

Care plans are developed in collaboration with you, your loved one, and our care team to ensure they meet specific needs and preferences. We review and adjust the care plan regularly based on feedback, changes in health, or any new requirements.

What are your payment options and do you accept insurance?

We accept various forms of payment including private pay. Many long-term care insurance policies may cover home care services. We can assist with verifying insurance benefits and provide detailed information on payment options.

How do you handle emergencies or unexpected situations?

Our caregivers are trained to handle emergencies and follow established protocols to ensure the safety and well-being of your loved one. In case of any urgent situations, we have a 24/7 support system and will promptly communicate with family members as needed.

What is the process for starting home care services?

The process begins with a consultation where we assess the needs of your loved one and discuss their preferences. From there, we develop a personalized care plan and match them with a suitable caregiver. We then schedule the start of services and provide ongoing support to ensure everything is running smoothly.

How can I provide feedback or voice concerns about the care my loved one is receiving?

We welcome and value feedback from families. You can provide feedback or voice concerns by contacting your client caregiver coordinator via email, text or phone call.

Will I have consistency of care with an aide?

Yes, we aim to provide consistency by having a dedicated aide who becomes familiar with you or your loved one. We understand that building a strong rapport is crucial, as home care is not just about meeting physical needs but also addressing emotional well-being. Our goal is to foster a meaningful relationship between the aide and the individual in their care.
